Details for your Session
At Silhouette, every session is unique. We believe that your portraits should reflect you and your personality. Your wardrobe and props are a great place to showcase who you are in your senior year.
When choosing an outfit, think about colors that compliment your eyes, hair and skin tone. Medium to dark solid colors do photograph the best, but don’t feel like you need to shy away from color. Jewel tones look amazing, especially with an outdoor session. Keep in mind that white and pale tones will wash you out and make you appear lighter than your actual skin tone.
We want you to be the spotlight in your portraits; your clothing should be an accessory. Be conservative with your patterns.
Make sure you are styled from head to toe (literally). Shoes matter and they should match the rest of your look.
Don’t forget to bring “props” that represent you. Sports gear and uniforms, musical instruments, skateboards, dirt bikes, cars and pets are popular.
* Add on extra’s for $20 with an additional $65 minimum purchase.

For a session with multiple outfits, make them count! Vary the style, colors and dress level, really make a statement with each look. If you are struggling with what to wear, bring extra options and we will consult with you before your session.
Oh! And don’t forget to bring your additional outfits on hangers to avoid wrinkles.
When selecting an outfit, pick clothing that accentuates your best features. Do you have blue eyes? Wear a color that makes them POP! Opt for pieces that aren’t too revealing. You can show a bit of skin without exposing too much; find pieces that balance your look from head to toe. Don't forget to add some style with accessories like jewelry, hats, scarves and jackets.
For makeup, apply it slightly heavier than normal. Concealer, mascara, blush, and lip color will take your portraits to the next level. If you don’t typically wear makeup and need some help, we can refer you to our favorite artists and salons. Hands and feet will show, so make sure to have a fresh mani/pedi. Please have your hair and make-up completed when you arrive.
This is the time to show off your style. Make mom proud! Dress your best in a suit, polo or collared shirt and tie. Add more style with jackets, hats, sunglasses, boots and flashy sneakers. If dressing up really isn’t your thing, any shirt with a collar can elevate your look, while still giving you comfort.
A fresh shave is important. Remember--if you can see stubble in the mirror, it will most definitely show in your portraits. We recommend getting your haircut a week prior to your appointment. Do not forget to style your hair with a bit of gel, wax or spray.
