Can I book my session online?
Sorry, we do not book sessions online. We would rather talk with you first to make sure you get all of the correct information! You can text, email or give us a call to get scheduled. We look forward to talking with you soon.

What is the environment like at Silhouette Photography?
We are a super cool and down to earth small business. We have a total of 5 friendly people who are like family who work here. We enjoy helping you capture memories and creating a fun and safe space to be yourself.

Where are you located?
We are located in Trail Dust Town, where Pinnacle Peak restaurant is.
We are located in the front of Trail Dust Town, right when you enter, closest to Tanque Verde behind the boulder and the wagon.

What's up with all of the rubber ducks hidden in your studio?
When we first took over Silhouette our kids found a box of rubber ducks and decided to hide them around our studio. The employees decided to bring in more and hide them. We are close to 30 ducks hidden. If you find all of the ducks, you get a lollipop!

What is the difference between a session and a package?
A session is the time you give the photographer and the package is the product you purchase after the session.

Do I need a parent or guardian to come with me during my session?
We highly suggest you bring someone with you. Right after the session you will be viewing your portraits and picking the one for the yearbook and also for your package if you are purchasing.

Why do I need to show up 15 minutes before my session?
We highly recommend you show up early for a couple reasons.
You may get lost and end up on time.
We will have more time with you.
You will have time to get ready before your session.

Why does it take 3-4 weeks to receive my portraits?
It’s not that it takes 3-4 weeks to process your portraits, it’s that you are in line to get processed. We usually have 75-100 clients weekly during busy season. Thank you for your support and patience!

Can I take photos of my portraits while I am viewing them?
We ask that you do not take photos of our work. We are happy to share them on instagram for you after they have been processed.

What happens if it is raining before or during my session?
It happens! Especially during monsoon season. Many times we can wait out the storms here in Tucson, which makes for cooler weather and perfect lighting. If not, we will reschedule at no additional cost.

What is retouch and will it make me look fake?
All of our packages come with basic retouch. Retouch takes care of any acne, shine, stray hairs, and teeth whitening. We do our best to make sure you look natural and amazing!
Additional advanced retouch options may include glass glare, removal of body parts, braces, and more. (ask for more details and pricing)
We have an actual human, her job is to process portraits and to make you look your fabulous self!

Is it okay to make pose suggestions or to bring props?
Absolutely! We love props and suggestions! We are life long learners and love new ideas!

How long are the sessions? And how much time should I plan?
Great question! It depends on your session type.
* You will view your images right after the session.Free yearbook: 5 minutes, plan for 30 minutes.
Basic Session: 25 minutes, plan for an hour to be safe.
Traditional Session: 40 minutes, plan for 1.5 hours at least.
Timeless Session: 50 minutes, plan for 2 hours.
Creative Session: 75 minutes, plan for possibly 3 hours.
This time frame all depends on how long it takes you to choose your images.
Make sure you eat before you come!
A hangry client is a cranky client! -
When purchasing digital images, can I get the RAW files?
Our digital images will only be given to you in a jpg file. They are high resolution with printing rights. We do not give out RAW files as they are not our completed product.
Questions About Attire/Grooming

Should I wear a tube top, no straps or spaghetti straps for my headshot portrait?
We do not recommend these type of shirts for a couple reasons.
Yearbook portraits should follow dress-code.
With a headshot, you may look naked.

Should I try my clothes on the day of my session for the first time?
No, we highly recommend you try your clothes on at least a week prior to your session just to make sure everything fits.

Should I pop out my glass lenses before my session?
We recommend that you remove your glass from your frames or wear no glasses to avoid glass glare in your portraits. Especially if you have thick glass or do not have anti glass glare.

How much makeup should I wear?
We recommend wearing your makeup as modest as possible, but the choice is yours!
*Please avoid using highlighter! It looks amazing on you and not so amazing with flash. -
What if my heels/shoes are uncomfortable?
We recommend you bring an extra pair of comfy shoes to walk around our property and to put on after your session to avoid discomfort.

Should I get my haircut close to my session?
We highly suggest getting your haircut at least 1-2 weeks prior to your session, just incase you do not like it. Also, it takes time to get used to your new look!

Should I shave before my session?
We recommend making sure you do a nice clean shave before your session.

If using your own cap and gown, should I take it out of the bag in advance?
Yes, We highly recommend you take it out of the bag and steam it. Your cap and gown will have many wrinkles. If all else fails, you can always use ours!
